What’s scary is that we “think pink”, drink pink, and wear pink all October while one too many Bahamian women get diagnosed with breast cancer. What’s scary is that we walk for the cure, we say we’re fighting for the cure - while wearing an underwire bra! An underwire bra that interferes with lymphatic drainage. This can result in breast lumps and cysts that may become cancerous.
What’s scary is that as carriers of the BRCA1 gene, my little island nation has the highest inherited risk of breast cancer, yet we invite cancer delivery to our door, through these plastic bottles of water that have been sitting in the sun, releasing toxins into the very water we’ll consume. It’s scary that maybe we truly can “blame it on the water”!
You know what’s scary? Chemotherapy. An acidic approach. One that destroys both cancerous AND healthy cells. What’s scary is that more Bahamian women know the name Susan G Komen than know the name Dr. Otto Warburg, who in 1931 won the Nobel Peace Prize. His research revealed that cancer grows in oxygen deprived, acidic tissue. Deprive a cell of oxgyen (acidic) and it may become cancerous. Conversely, oxygenate (alkaline) cells, and diseases including CANCER cannot survive within that alkaline body!
What’s scary is that as much as we quote “prevention is better than cure”, we largely only tout the benefits of having a mammogram, because we’re supposed to be okay with a little toxic radiation exposure that increases one’s risk of developing cancer. Most do not even know that a thermogram is an option - a non toxic option that, detecting inflammation, has the potential to alert of cancer’s presence years before a mammogram would. It’s like not knowing there’s an option to have almond milk instead of dairy milk! Whoah! Can I even say how scary it is that Yoplait sponsors the breast cancer ribbon on its yogurt - AS IF dairy and breast cancer don’t go together. SMT anyway.
One more thing that’s scary...this scene I’ve seen play out. When folks are interested in learning about alkalinity, and I tell them how others have kicked cancer in the butt by FLOODING their bodies with antioxidants ... and they need a boatload of it! One scary scene is hesitation. The other scary scene is them taking a thimble full when I say you need a boatload. Lots of scary things out there, but this truth has made me free from fear!
